Bald Eagles on Squam Lake: These eagles have their own bit of real estate on Little Loon Island on Squam Lake and have been spotted all around the area for several years. The photographer is Ray Wujcik of Campton, NH who took these photos from a boat.

Big Squam Lake, Little Squam Lake and White Oak Pond—spring fed bodies of water connected by a channel—are havens of unspoiled beauty for discriminating buyers. Big Squam is New Hampshire's second largest lake, with 65 miles of shoreline and 10 miles of open waterways. Coves for fishing and habitat for loons have been formed by the 67 islands that dot the lake. Squam Lake was made famous by the 1981 movie "On Golden Pond" starring Henry Fonda, Kathryn Hepburn, and Jane Fonda.

The Squam Lake region has maintained its reputation as a place of rare pristine beauty. Much of the area has been preserved as conservation land. Because it is less populated than other lakes, properties with waterfront on Squam Lake tend to be more expensive, whether it's a small rustic cottage or a larger modern home.

Ed Bernard Realty can help you find waterfront property on Squam Lake that will fit your dreams of life "on Golden Pond." Search the real estate listings on this site, view more resources about Squam Lake, or contact Ed or Louise for more personalized help.
